Sean McCarthy

Mr. McCarthy has worked in public finance since 2000. After eight years at A.G. Edwards/Wachovia he joined the Stifel Public Finance team in Chicago and then St. Louis.

His banking expertise is in K-12 and general municipal finance, with a particular focus on Illinois-based issuers. In early 2020, Mr. McCarthy transitioned from Stifel’s Public Finance banking team to their Municipal Oversight Division.

Mr. McCarthy received his B.A. in English and Economics from DePauw University and his MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business. Mr. McCarthy is a licensed General Securities Representative (Series 7), Municipal Securities Principal (Series 53), Uniform Securities State Agent (Series 63) and Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50) through FINRA.
