Sanj Benawra

Sanj Benawra is a Director on Stifel’s Technology investment banking team, with around 16 years of advisory and finance experience spanning M&A, transaction services and strategy. Based in London, he focuses on UK software and fintech M&A, advising entrepreneurs, founder-owned businesses and private equity clients on full-cycle transactions including sell-side and buy-side M&A, MBOs and MBIs, debt recapitalizations and broader financings.

Sanj joined Stifel in 2026 from Alantra, where he was a Director in Technology Investment Banking, specializing in B2B software and fintech on a pan-European basis. He previously served as Associate Director in Technology & Services M&A at Spectrum Corporate Finance, which was acquired by FRP Advisory in 2021, and worked in Transaction Services and private equity advisory at PwC UK. Earlier in his career, Sanj qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG UK.

Sanj holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics & Accountancy from City, University of London, and is a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ICAEW). He is currently pursuing the CFA program.
