Robert Barna

Robert Barna is a Managing Director in Stifel’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Barna joined Stifel when it acquired De La Rosa & Co. in 2014. Mr. Barna has more than 20 years of public finance experience working with hundreds of public agencies to issue general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, certificates of participation and tax and revenue anticipation notes. Mr. Barna’s specialty is originating debt offerings for California school and community college districts.

During his career, he has participated in the issuance of tens of billions of dollars in bonds to support the acquisition, construction and modernization of school and college facilities up and down the state.

Mr. Barna received an MBA with concentrations in Finance, Accounting and Public/Non-Profit Management from Columbia Business School in 1993, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. He currently maintains Series 7 and 63 licenses.
