Omar Daghestani is a Managing Director at Stifel and a member of the firm’s Public Finance Operating Committee. He leads Stifel’s top-ranked pension bond practice in Chicago, New York, and Boston. Throughout his career, Omar has senior managed more than $30 billion in municipal transactions across all credit types—including four deals recognized as Deal of the Year by The Bond Buyer and Smith’s Research & Gradings.  

With over two decades of experience advising public pension systems, Omar is a trusted voice in pension reform, governance, and liability management. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has lectured at institutions such as Harvard Kennedy School and the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.  

Omar drives positive public policy outcomes through his service including Board Chair & Governor; City Club of Chicago; Governing Board Director & Fundraising Co-Chair, Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center; Director, University of Chicago, Harris School Center for Municipal Finance Board; Past-President, Glenview Park Foundation; Class Reunion Co-Chair, Kennedy School at Harvard University.

He earned his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, where his thesis, “Redlining in Chicago: A Predictive Model of Home Mortgage Origination” received the William Henry Exum Paper Award. He also holds a master’s in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School, where he was elected student body president. Most recently, Omar was recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business with the 2023 Crain’s Notable Leaders in Finance award.
