Michael Coakley

Michael has spent more than 30 years in the securities business working with some of the industry’s leading firms during his career. His background is in management, sales, risk management, primary equity linked product origination and execution. 

Michael began his career in fixed income sales with Prudential Bache Securities in London. He then moved to Davy Stockbrokers where he worked in equity and convertible sales. He went on to specialise in convertible bond sales for many years working at Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch and then built the convertible business for DLJ in Europe before being named Head of European and Asian convertibles at Lehman Brothers.  Michael was a founding partner of equity-linked trading and capital markets boutique ISM Capital, responsible for the public side securities and origination business. 

Michael became Head of the International Convertible Business at Stifel through the Firm's acquisition of ISM Capital in 2016. He is a member of the Stifel Europe operating committee.
