Matt Johansen

Matthew Johansen, Director, joined Stifel in April 2019 and has 21 years of public finance experience.

Prior to joining Stifel, Matt was a senior-managing consultant with PFM for 3 years and was a senior investment banker in Citigroup’s municipal securities division for 16 years. His experience includes serving as senior managing underwriter on over $19 billion in par amount for issuers in a wide range of municipal sectors including cities, counties, states, toll roads, transit, water and sewer, public power, healthcare, and higher education. During his career Matt has worked with the Texas Department of Transportation as well as some of the largest issuers in the industry, including the City of Dallas, North Texas Tollway Authority, the City of Austin, and the City of San Antonio.

He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management with a finance emphasis from the University of Minnesota, and holds Series 50, 52 and 63 licenses.
