John Kim

John Kim heads the firm's Charter School Practice Group, which works with charter school networks and operators in California and nationwide to finance permanent school facilities. He successfully financed the first start-up, stand-alone charter school in the nation for Rocketship Education. His general government clients include the cities of Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Oakland, Long Beach, Santa Monica, Burlingame, Sunnyvale, San Mateo, Norwalk, Claremont, Palm Springs and many others.

John received the Bond Buyer Regional Deal of the Year Award in 2008. John earned Bachelor's degrees in Rhetoric and History and a minor in Ethnic Studies from University of California, Berkeley. John received a commendation in 1997 from the City of Berkeley for contributions to the Commission on the Status of Women.

He was a former history teacher at Berkeley High School and taught science and history courses at University of California, Berkeley and Laney College (Oakland, CA). John currently maintains Series 7, 53 and 63 licenses.
