Jim Lahay

Jim joined the Stifel Public Finance Department in 1989 and leads Stifel’s national development district platform. Specializing in public finance alternatives, such as tax increment, transportation development, neighborhood improvement, community improvement, and business districts, as well as project financings for sports and recreational facilities, Jim assists clients in raising capital for economic development and related infrastructure.

Jim has served as the lead banker on financings in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas raising more than $3.0 billion for a wide variety of issuers and special districts throughout the country. Mr. Lahay has 16 years of government experience, serving as Administrative Assistant to the St. Louis County Executive, Coordinator of the St. Louis County Community Development Program, and Assistant Director of the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of the City of Wellston.

He holds a B.A. from Southwest Missouri State University and a MPA from Harvard University.
