Chad Christoff is a Director in Stifel's Education & Nonprofit Finance practice. Mr. Christoff specializes in transactions for independent school borrowers across the country as well as private colleges and universities. He has spent more than 10 years at George K. Baum & Company (now Stifel) working with educational institutions to prepare for, evaluate, and execute tax-exempt debt financings. These financings include both bank-based and public market structures, fixed and variable rate debt, and the use of interest rate swaps and other derivatives.

Mr. Christoff has served as the primary point of contact, provided analytical support, and managed transactions for a wide variety of recent independent school borrowers, ranging from AAA-rated institutions such as Phillips Exeter Academy (NH) to sub-investment grade rated transactions for institutions such as Shattuck-St. Mary's School (MN). He has worked with independent schools spanning the entire country, including Noble and Greenough School (MA), Thacher School (CA), Pine Crest School (FL), The John Cooper School (TX), Montessori School of Denver (CO), and The Baldwin School of Puerto Rico (PR).

In addition, Mr. Christoff has worked with several private higher education institutions including AAA-rated Grinnell College, Morningside College, and Buena Vista University in Iowa, and Roseman University of Health Sciences in Nevada and Utah. Additionally, he has served as the point of contact for the past five financings on behalf of the University of San Diego, including both tax-exempt and taxable as well as publicly issued and bank-based structures.

Mr. Christoff has presented at several industry seminars and conferences, including the National Business Officers Association (NBOA), Iowa Higher Education Loan Authority Annual CFO Conference, the Colorado Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference, and the Louisiana Association of Independent School Annual Conference. He has also served as an ad hoc member of the Finance Committee for Watershed School (CO). Mr. Christoff holds a B.A. in Economics from Grinnell College and is a native of Donahue, Iowa.
