Bret Shogren

Bret Shogren is a Director with Stifel's Kansas Public Finance practice. He joined Stifel in 2019 through its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of George K. Baum & Company (GKB), where he worked since 2013. Since graduating from analyst training through GKB's Denver office, his focus has been on assisting cities, counties, school districts, healthcare providers, and other issuers with election proceedings, advice, and the structuring and marketing of both general obligation and revenue bond issues throughout the state of Kansas.

Mr. Shogren has assisted in more than 150 transactions, helping municipalities issue more than $1.61 billion in total par amount. These transactions are comprised of new money bonds after successful elections, refundings for interest cost savings, temporary note, and lease/purchase transactions for issuers in Kansas.

Mr. Shogren is a Wichita area native, graduating from Andover High School and earning his BBA from Wichita State University in 2012. He currently resides in the Wichita area.
