Bernd Schneider, PhD

Bernd has more than 20 years of professional experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and business development. He has advised mid-and large-cap corporate clients and financial investors on sell-side and buy-side mandates. He has advised on more than 50 transactions in the chemicals industry, with the majority being cross-border transactions. Examples of his sell side references are the sale of ElixPolymers to Sinochem, the sale of Prefere Resins to Silverfleet and the carve-out and sale sale of ESIM’s Intermediates division to Vertellus. Buy side references comprise the acquisition of PharmaZell by Bridgepoint, the acquisition of Polysil by Elkem and the acquisition of solvadis by Sojit

Before joining in 2021, he was Head of Chemicals with Alantra and Lincoln International. Prior to Lincoln he headed the Chemicals Competence Center within the transactions division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Germany

Bernd studied both chemistry and business administration at the University of Bayreuth and holds both degrees ("Diplom-Chemiker", "Diplom-Kaufmann"). He received his PhD in polymer chemistry (University of Bayreuth / Germany and University of California Santa Barbara).
