Ashton Clanfield

Ashton has 17 years’ experience in corporate broking and is focused exclusively on Energy & Natural Resources. He has raised over $4.5 billion of equity capital for UK listed companies, including ~$2 billion for E&P companies since 2018 representing c.80% of E&P equity raises done in London. The London team has more recently moved into Mining since Stifel’s acquisition of GMP and completed the £42.5m London IPO of AEX Gold in the summer of 2020. Ashton has successfully completed 32 consecutive transactions in the resources sectors, including as JGC on the largest ever LSE Premium Segment E&P IPO equity raise of $460m for Energean and JGC on the largest ever AIM E&P fundraise of $530m for Hurricane Energy. Stifel is a retained advisor to 14 Energy & Natural Resource companies, and Ashton was rated first in the 2017, 2018 & 2019 Extel Corporate Broker rankings in Oil & Gas. Ashton was previously a Partner at Oriel Securities, and a Director at Panmure Gordon. He has an MBA from the University of Buckingham and an MA from Durham University.
