Adam Hatton is a Managing Director in the Stifel’s Energy and Natural Resources Group.  He has extensive technical, operational, financial, and advisory experience across energy verticals and focuses on clients in the Upstream and Midstream oil and gas sectors.  Adam has conducted and managed the evaluation and execution of hundreds of oil and gas projects across the US, and internationally, and been involved in all stages of oil and gas development, with over $5B in operated asset transactional experience.

Prior to joining Stifel in 2026, Adam was the founder of Vault Resources, an oil and gas consulting firm focused on advising clients on A&D transactions, exploration & development opportunities, and midstream projects both domestically and abroad.  Before this, Adam was the Co-founder and CEO of Four Corners Petroleum I & II, which successfully acquired and rejuvenated multiple legacy oil fields, built and sold midstream entities, developed and sold multiple conventional and unconventional assets.  Earlier in this career, he held New Ventures, Technical Advisor, and Senior Geologist roles with Nimin Energy, Merit Energy, and ExxonMobil.

Adam received an M.S. in Geology from Ohio University and a B.S. in Geology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
