Toby Cortez

Mr. Cortez is a Director in Stifel’s Baton Rouge office with over 20 years of public finance experience. During his career as an investment banker, he has participated in bringing billions of dollars to the capital markets for numerous clients.

During his tenure in public finance, he has maintained a focus in transactions for higher education, housing, not-for-profit, K-12 and local government issuers. In addition to serving as lead banker on transactions for a variety of issuers, his experience has been multi-faceted, including financial analysis, debt structure and modeling and institutional sales while managing a variable rate platform for a regional investment banking firm. He has also delivered numerous presentations on various topics related to not-for-profit and higher education transactions.

Mr. Cortez received his undergraduate degree and Masters of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University and maintains the Series 7, 50, 63 and 79 licenses.
