Dr. Lars Friedrich

Dr. Lars Friedrich joined Stifel in 2023 as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Stifel, Lars was a divisional board member of Commerzbank, the second largest bank in Germany, responsible for Securities and Brokerage. Lars specializes in the transformation of banking business models through technology. Among others, he led the corporate strategy group of Commerzbank, transforming it into an agile digital bank, was responsible for enterprise architecture as well as for the group wide agile transformation. He led SEB's business development in Germany and worked in Accenture's financial services strategy group. Lars served on the supervisory boards of Neugelb Studios and onvista media. He holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in Banking Economics from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Germany.
