James Ireland

James leads our European Business Services coverage, having joined Stifel in September 2023. He has 25 years of advisory experience.

He has advised on a wide of range of transactions including private buy-side and sell-side M&A, public takeovers and defense, strategic advisory and investor positioning assignments, IPOs, private placements, as well as investment and sub-investment grade financings. His transaction experience spans the Testing, Inspection, Certification & Compliance; Engineering & Infrastructure Services; Environmental/ESG Services; Speciality Rental; Speciality Consulting; Distribution; Industrial & Technical Services; Facility Services; B2C; BPO; and Human Capital Services sub-sectors. He has worked extensively on multiple cross-border assignments.

Prior to joining Stifel, James was Managing Director at Houlihan Lokey, Head of Industrials and Services at RBC, and prior to that a member of Citigroup’s Global Industrials Group. James started his career at Coopers & Lybrand, now PwC, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

James has a Masters in International Commercial and Business Law from UEA
