[email protected] | (212) 847-6725 | v-CardBarry Gottfried is a Managing Director and is located in New York, NY. Mr. Gottfried joined Stifel in August 2015. He has been in the public finance housing business for over 40 years, working for several major investment banks during that time.
Barry has executed hundreds of single family and multifamily bond issues for billions of dollars for over half of the state housing finance agencies. He was among the first to structure bond issues with innovative features that often subsequently became the standard for HFA financings. These features include multi-lien bonds, integrated new money/refunding bonds, replacement refundings, integrated taxable/tax-exempt bonds, integrated fixed rate/swapped variable rate bonds, tender offer/refunding bonds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”), super sinker bonds, PAC bonds, stepped coupon bonds, and most recently, Tax-Exempt Mortgage-backed Securities (TEMS) and Multifamily TEMS (M-TEMS). Mr. Gottfried has also created models to track 10-year rule and 32-year rule compliance. He has many years of experience in financial modeling, running stand-alone and indenture cash flows for rating agency stress tests, structural analyses and yield analyses.
Mr. Gottfried received a B.S. in Economics with a Concentration in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the New York University School of Graduate Business Administration (now known as the Stern School of Business). He has passed the Series 7, 50, 63, 79 and SIE Examinations.
