Alan T. Matlosz is a Managing Director in Stifel's Colorado Public Finance group. In this position, he is responsible for providing comprehensive investment banking services to local governments throughout Colorado and Wyoming. Mr. Matlosz has worked in the public finance profession since 1992 after six years of experience in state and local government. Since 1992, he has worked with a wide variety of counties, municipalities, and special districts, and he has helped finance more than 400 projects. In his government career, Mr. Matlosz worked for Adams County, Colorado, coordinating planning efforts around the new Denver International Airport, and for the Colorado Department of Local Affairs as a Finance Specialist providing technical assistance in the areas of budgeting, investing, and capital financing to hundreds of municipalities, counties, and special districts. During his career, Mr. Matlosz has developed several specialties, including the financing of water and wastewater projects, financing of infrastructure for new development, and tax-exempt lease-purchase financing. Mr. Matlosz has a long history of volunteer activities, currently serving as board member and Treasurer of the Water Education Colorado, and has previously held roles as board member and Treasurer of Colorado Preservation, Inc., Vice Chairman for Public Affairs and board member of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, Chairman and Secretary of the Arapahoe County Retirement Board, member of the Transition Team for the City of Centennial, instructor for the Colorado Government Finance Officers Association, and national instructor for the American Water Works Association. Mr. Matlosz holds a B.A. in Economics and Rhetoric from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University, and an M.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado. He holds Series 7, 50 and 63 securities licenses.
